Note: You'll have 30 minutes to accomplish this. Stay on task so you finish it. If other good conversation starters come up, just make a note in the "Burning Questions" document and you can come back to it later.
Let's take a "look into" a hybrid learning environment. These are actually snapshots of Learner-Active, Technology-Infused Classrooms; we've modified them to illustrate what they will look like for the fall of 2020.
You'll want to read these directions first to get a sense of the activity. But then, you'll click on a link below to one of the Look Into documents. These are a "snapshot" look into a hybrid classroom where half of the students are in class and the other half are learning at home. First, just mute your microphones and read through the Look Into through the following lenses:
This is something many teachers already do
This is something I can see happening
This is something I don't think will work for our teachers
This is something I don't think will work for me (note that "teachers" and "me" are not the same)
Once everyone in the group has read through the document at least once, establish a couple of important roles:
1) Recorder - pop out the file at the bottom of the page, make a copy, and share with nancy.sulla@idecorp.com. Then record group responses.
2) Facilitator - facilitate the conversation so that everyone has the opportunity to share what they would add to the four quadrants; discuss reactions, ideas, and questions you want to pursue,
3) Synthesizer - guide the group to generating the "newspaper headline" they would write to synthesize the group's thoughts about the classroom description; be prepared to share in the larger group meeting
4) Bird-Walking-Watcher - your job is to keep the group on task and prevent the conversation from derailing; keep a list of all "parking lot" items we should return to later.
